La Cabra's Kiangoi Steeped Coffee is a beloved classic from the Kiangoi station of the Rungeto Cooperative in Kirinyaga, Kenya. It boasts a typical Kenyan washed profile with fresh, crisp notes of red currants and a floral hibiscus character. The steeped coffee bags are individually dosed (approximately 15g per bag), ground, and sealed in ready-to-brew, nitrogen-flushed packaging – preserving the clear, aromatic character of freshly ground coffee for over a year after roasting. Simply add water to your cup and enjoy.

Preparation instructions:
- Place the Steeped bag in a cup
- Pour on approximately 250ml of hot, (ideally) filtered water (92-96°C).
- Let it steep for 4-5 minutes

Origin & Special Features:
Kiangoi coffee comes from the small region in Kirinyaga supplied by the Kiangoi mill, surrounding the village of Ngariama. The region is primarily a tea-growing area, so most of the coffee plants are still quite young – known for the superb quality of its tea and coffee. What makes it special is that, because coffee cultivation began here somewhat later than in neighboring regions, the soils haven't been depleted by years of conventional agriculture. The lush green landscape with its rich volcanic soils remains relatively untouched by intensive farming. La Cabra visits the region regularly and considers northeastern Kirinyaga the home of some of her favorite Kenyan coffees. Kiangoi is operated by the Rungeto Farmer's Cooperative Society, which also owns the Kii and Karimikui stations.
